Last month, the Most Rev. Francis Leo, Archbishop of Toronto, had the opportunity to attend Radio Maria Canada’s “A Celestial Night” dinner at Venu Event Space in Vaughan, Ont.Archbishop Leo at Radio Maria Dinner

The event, a fundraiser for the 24-hour Catholic Radio Station, consisted of a five-course Italian meal, a silent auction, raffle prizes, as well as musical performances from Angelica di Castro and the Stand Firm Worship Band.

Archbishop Leo was the guest of honour and delivered a very engaging and encouraging address to attendees. He spoke about how we are all like Mother Mary in that through the sacrament of Baptism, we are all called to be servants of the Lord. “There was an opportunity to do good,” said His Grace, “there was an opportunity to bring goodness, truth, beauty into the world and she did it.”

“This is us. We are like Mother Mary and when we get up every day, we do the sign of the cross and say, ‘Lord, thank you’. How many opportunities am I going to have today to give birth to Jesus into this world?”

“In all of this, our role model is the Blessed Mother and from heaven she is praying that we too will carry Jesus and bring Him into the world more and more.”
